Sunday nights from 6:30PM to 8:00PM during the school year In March, this amazing group of individuals did a plethora of acts of service. During our Easter season, the youth cleaned up after a Come Home dinner, made sandwiches for Lighthouse, helped set up the Easter eggs for the Family Hunt, and kept the little bunnies on track and running smoothly. Shout out to our youth! You Rock! (I have to say I was thrilled to have 21 kids through this hunt!) Many of our youth group filled the role of acolytes and crucifers through the month . It warmed my heart, as it reminded me of when I used to do the same thing! There are so many fun opportunities coming up this month. We are teaming up and fellowshipping with two other local youth groups. We are always welcoming new youth, come try it! Blessings, Corinna

We were honored and overjoyed to welcome some incredible new members a few weeks ago! They are:
Noppi Widjaja, Ailina Zhou, Corinna Olesen, Randy Vavrick, Matt and Colleen Severson, and Nancy Cameron Here are their words on what brought them to Troy First: “Excellent youth program, excellent sermon, excellent congregation where I and Ailina felt welcome” - Noppi “I came here because the youth is somewhere I felt safe and I clicked with the people there” - Ailina “I started coming to Troy First when I was young and being here has brought me closer to Christ and that’s a beautiful thing.” - Corinna “On January 22 I was intending on worshipping somewhere else and the Lord directed me here. And when I was in here and listened I knew that I was supposed to be here." -Randy “I grew up in the First United Methodist church in Kalamazoo, moved over here with Colleen a few years ago and we’ve just been bouncing around and started watching online and decided to come in person one day. Everyone was really welcoming so we decided to get Caleb baptized here and then decided to join.” -Matt “I just wanted to thank everyone for being so welcoming we wanted a place that our family felt accepted and loved and we definitely felt that in our short time here and we appreciate that very much.” - Colleen “Probably mostly the people. I was going to church online and I liked that the church was involved in the community. Pastor Myra’s sermons are very moving. When I came here everyone made me feel so welcome, I just come every Sunday now and I am just glad to be a part of this.” -Nancy If you see them round in the coming weeks and months, give them a warm welcome :) Wow! What a week!! We had an amazing Holy Week 2023 at Troy First. Starting with Palm Sunday and a Taizé Service on Sunday, a the prayer labyrinth on Monday and Tuesday, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday service and of course, ending with 2 services on Easter Sunday. Thanks to everyone who joined us for worship services and more! What a way to remember and celebrate the Death and Resurrection of our Savior! At our Maundy Thursday Service, we dined together at the Lord's Table as Jesus did in the Upper Room with the disciples and others during the Last Supper. For our Good Friday Service, we heard the Seven Last Words of Jesus and featured eight different Pastors from all around metro Detroit, all the way to Kentucky! How powerful! On Easter Sunday, we started with a true SUNRISE service at 7am in the Memorial Garden, featuring bagpipes. Wow. It was beautiful. And last, but not least, we had our 10am Resurrection Service, complete with our butterfly, handbell choir, chancel choir, trumpets and more! It was truly a day to remember!! He is Risen! He is Risen, indeed!
On Palm Sunday we gathered after Worship for an incredible brunch! We had over 120 folks join us to eat a beautiful spread of breakfast and lunch foods, and of course desserts! It was the perfect way to kick off Holy Week as a church family. Thank you to all the people who helped make it possible including: the staff for planning & cooking, a group from United Women in Faith for decorating the CLC & tables and Men's Breakfast (plus a few) for cleaning up! It was a team effort all around and is sure to be remembered for a long time!
Our small, but mighty group had such a fun night on Sunday March 5th!!
We took them on a surprise field trip and they were happy to see it was Zap Zone when we arrived. First we tackled laser tag in a two story room with a large group of others. Someone in our group got first place out of 40...we won't tell you who!! Next, we played a pretty wicked, glow in the dark, putt putt course!! The decorations were amazing, but the holes were SO challenging!! All in all we had an awesome night! We can't wait to go back :) Two wonderful nights at the movies!!!
We had a packed house to see A Man Called Otto with almost 60 people and a great crowd of 30 to see Puss in Boots: The Last Wish the following Tuesday. Join us on Sunday January 29th to hear about both films from Pastor Myra and Victoria! We loved watching our kids and youth perform their incredible version of "Samantha's Christmas" written by our very own Pastor Myra. We had 10 children and youth and 3 awesome directors who made the show enjoyable for the congregation. We already can't wait for next year!
During our month about Celebration, we had an awesome day celebrating our children at Troy First. We had a face painter, balloon artist, games, crafts and so much more. Thanks to all who joined us to celebrate and helped make this great event happen.
