Thoughts: John devotes all of chapters 13-17 to the Last Supper. Jesus has so much to explain to his disciples – so much they do not yet understand - so much they need to know.
As Jesus talks, the disciples interrupt him with questions. Not surprisingly, Peter is first. Peter: Lord, do you wash my feet? John: Lord, who is it who will betray you? Peter: Lord, where are you going? Why can’t I follow you now? Thomas: Lord, we don’t know where you’re going. How can we know the way? Philip: Lord, show us the Father, and we’ll be satisfied. Thaddeus: Lord, why do you show yourself to us, but not to the world? Disciples: What do you mean when you say that we won’t see you for a while, and then we shall see you? Discussion: What question would you like to ask Jesus? Activity: Answer 50 questions each day patiently. At question 51, you may show a touch of asperity.
