Thoughts: Jesus is sometimes called the Lamb of God. He is not likened to any other animal. And he is called the Good Shepherd, but he is not known as the keeper of any other animal.
Did he have a particular affinity for sheep? Or did he wisely draw upon the characteristics of sheep – animals which were familiar to his listeners – to illustrate his teaching? Angels told only one group of people about Jesus’ birth – shepherds. “Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” The angels gave the shepherds directions. “And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” Discussion: Why did the angels tell only the shepherds? Activity: Bring good tidings of great joy to someone through a sincere compliment. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Remember in prayer this week Bob & Vivian Grusnick, Stu & Vivian Hansard, Eunice Kraase, Mildred Parker, Dennis & Alice Seppanen and Marilyn Therrian.
