Thoughts: This scripture reminds us of Noah. Most people can identify Noah. Who was Noah’s wife? We don’t know her name. Fewer people know the names of Noah’s three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japhteth. Who were the sons’ wives? We don’t know their names. Were these four women good, or had they simply married into the right family:
These eight people were saved, just as baptism saves us by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. At the beginning of the baptism of a child, the minister reminds the congregation that “Baptism is an outward and visible sign of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, through which grace we become partakers of his righteousness and heirs to life eternal.” What a promise! What a blessing! Discussion: How many baptisms have you witnessed? How many times have you promised to surround a baptized child with steadfast love? Activity: Remember the chorus? “Jesus loves the little children…. They are precious in his sight.” We must show children they are precious in our sights, also. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ Remember in prayer this week Michelle Freeman, Bob & Vivian Grusnick, Stu & Vivian Hansard, Eunice Kraase, Mildred Parker, and Marilyn Therrian.
